Nature: Structure Fire – Assist Lewes (82) – Sand Dunes Village

Location: 16988 Idaho Ct Sand Dunes Village, DE 19958

While many of the eastern side of the County fire companies were assisting the Rehoboth Beach (86) Volunteer Fire Company with a working structure fire exposures or providing cover up / standby assignments for the Sunflower Road incident near Love Creek, the Lewes (82) Fire Department was alerted for a structure on Idaho Court in Sand Dunes Village.

Emergency response units were redirected from the Milton (85), Lewes (82), Indian River (80), Georgetown (77), Bethany Beach (70), and Memorial (89) volunteer fire companies to respond to the residential structure fire on Idaho County in the Lewes Fire District. 

Arriving emergency response units found a single family residential home with nothing evident. Crews located an extinguished fire at the location.  Other arriving units were assigned to coordinate a search and evaluation for extension of fire while Incident Command reduced to the assignments to the units on scene.

The Delaware State Fire Marshal is investigating.
