Nature: Vehicle Accident w/Medics

Early Sunday morning, October 30^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Hollymount Road.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad, the Sussex County Paramedics, and the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit – Trooper 2.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included traffic control, fluid and debris recovery, vehicle stabilization if needed as well as incident mitigation.

It appears that a Dodge minivan was traveling on Hollymount Road and failed to successfully navigate a slight curve leaving the roadway and overturning.  There was a single occupant transported to nearby medical facilities.  The other EMS services and aviation were cancelled prior to arrival at the incident location.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
