Nature: Electrical Fire

On Saturday, October 8^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an electrical fire at the Oak Orchard-Riverdale American Post #28.  It was reported to be an electrical burning odor new the bar area.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tower 80 and Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police

Emergency response crew assignments included evaluation and investigation to identify the source of the odor. 

It appears that a refrigerator under the bat counter encountered and electrical motor issue and caused the emission of the odor.  The device was disconnected after evaluation.  The facility was properly evacuated upon arrival of emergency response personnel. The refrigeration device was properly disconnected. 

All units were permitted to return to their respective quarters.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.
