Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: 33002-34541 Long Neck Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

On Wednesday evening, February 4th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a personal injury accident on Long Neck Road in the vicinity of the entrance to Pot Nets Bayside.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility, Engine#80-5 from the Long Neck facility and the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, patient stabilization where needed, traffic control, scene mitigation.

It appears that a GMC Sierra Pick Up was traveling north on Long Neck and become disabled.  Since being disabled the vehicle was stopped and parked on the northbound shoulder.   A red Dodge Charger was traveling north on Long Neck Road and struck the disabled vehicle while approaching the sharp curve. The Dodge came to rest in the center of the roadway and the pick up remained on the shoulder of the roadway.

The Delaware State Fire Police provided traffic control assistance for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
