Story

Thursday January, 29 2015

On Thursday, January 29th, various members of the volunteer fire company spent the day evaluating the emergency response readiness of the apparatus. These exercises included hose washing from the previous evening’s emergency incident, restocking various fire suppression equipment and resources. While temperatures hovered around 37 degrees the work crews diligently addressed the necessary tasks in order to have the apparatus returned to readiness response.

The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company is in the midst of returning apparatus to emergency readiness status after having an unfortunate house fire fatality the evening before, the apparatus needs evaluation, refueling, restocking, and returned for readiness response.

The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company asks many of the retired volunteer personnel to assist with these tasks. Many of these retirees have career firefighter or previous volunteer firefighter experience and enjoy helping around the fire house.

The purpose of this publication is recognizing these gentlemen for their efforts and assistance to serve our community.
