Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: PI 10-01 - Long Neck Rd & Oak Forest Millsboro, DE 19966

On Friday morning, January 23rd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Long Neck Road in the vicinity of Oak Forest. It was reported to be two vehicles, rear end type collision, with no significant injuries.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-5 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments include vehicle stabilization, assist with patient stabilization if necessary, scene mitigation, and traffic control. It appears that a black Kia Sorento was traveling south on Long Neck Road and failed to stop thereby striking the rear of a Chevrolet Utility body truck. 

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control and scene mitigation efforts for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.

There were no requirements for additional hospital emergency medical services.
