Sunday January, 18 2015 @ 18:26 Nature: Structure Fire Location: Next to this residence Address: 20830 Gravel Hill Rd., Georgetown, DE 19947 On Sunday evening, January 18th, Indian River (80), Millsboro (83), Milton (85) fire companies were alerted to assist the Georgetown (77) Fire Company with a working structure fire on Gravel Hill Road. It was reported to be a working barn fire adjacent to an existing residential structure. Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 and Engine #80-1 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police. Emergency response crews were assigned to assist with fire suppression and incident mitigation as well as water supply to Georgetown’s apparatus while implementing a water shuttle operation. It appears that the barn structure was attached to a second residential unit which encountered significant damage as a result of the fire. The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control operations which required the complete closure of Gravel Hill Road for the duration of the incident. The Delaware State Fire Marshall’s Office is investigating the origin of the fire. You may review additional information via the following web sites:

Fire crews on scene of fully involved structure fire on Gravel Hill Road north of Johnson Road east of Georgetown. The call came in just before 6:30pm. Reports that it is a barn on fire. Milton, Millsboro and Indian River are assisting Georgetown at the scene with manpower and water.
