Nature: House Fire

Location: 19500-19899 Norwood St Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971

On Saturday morning, January 10th, the Indian River (80) and Lewes (82) fire companies were alerted to assist Rehoboth Beach (86) with a working structure fire. This incident was originally reported as a brush fire to the Rehoboth Emergency Operations Center until initial arriving units identified this as a working structure fire.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facility and Engine #80-1 from the Oak Orchard facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency crew assignments include fire suppression and mitigation activities as well as overhaul and clean-up.

The Delaware State Fire Marshall’s Office is investigatimg.

Fire Firefighters were called out to a house fire about 4:30 this morning. The fire was reported in the 19000 Block of Norwood Street east of Rt. 1 in Rehoboth Beach.

Fire crews from Rehoboth Beach, Lewes and Indian River fought an overnight fire in Rehoboth Beach Saturday morning.

Fire crews from Rehoboth Beach, Lewes and Indian River fought an overnight fire in Rehoboth Beach Saturday morning.

The fire was first reported as a brush fire, but as crews arrived to the scene, they learned it was actually a mobile home on fire in the 19000-block of Norwood Street.

No word on any injuries from the fire and the Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
