Nature: Brush Fire

Location: 30481 Mount Joy Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

On Thursday, April 14^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a brush fire on Mount Joy Road in the vicinity of Cordrey Road.  It was reported to an incident with an outside fire that got away from the property tenants.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility, Engine #80-1 and Brush #80-0 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.  Additional resources were requested from the Millsboro Volunteer Fire Company.

Emergency response crew assignments included fire suppression activities including water supply operations, fire suppression activities with extension of forestry lines.

It was identified that the incident resulted from an outside burn that out of control.  It was an inappropriate outside burn environment that flared up as a result of the dry and windy conditions.
