Nature: Vehicle Accident Serious

Location: Long Neck Rd & Pot Nets Creekside Entrance, Millsboro, DE 19966

On Saturday afternoon, September 20th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Long Neck Road in the vicinity of Pot Nets Creekside. It was reported to be a two vehicle collision.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Engine #80-5 from the Long Neck facility, Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility, as well as the Delaware State Fire Police, Sussex County Paramedics, and the local emergency medical services provider.

Emergency response crews were assigned to assist with patient stabilization, scene stabilization, vehicle stabilization, traffic control, and overall incident mitigation.

The Delaware State Fire Police were ordered to close this section of Long Neck Road for the duration of the incident.

It appears that blue Ford Focus was traveling south on Long Neck Road attempting to access the entrance to Pot Nets Creekside when a green Ford Taurus wagon struck the rear of the Focus. Both vehicle sustained significant damage and the occupant of the Taurus was transported for additional medical observations.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
