On Sunday, August 31st, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company collaborates with the Long Neck Business Association to host the Labor Day Long Neck Style which celebrates the past summer season with an ultimate capstone firework display over the Indian River Bay.

The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company assists the Long Neck Business Association (LNBA) with fire prevention and safety awareness activities as well as fire protection during the set-up and take-down of the fire work ordinances as well as during the actual fireworks demonstrations. This assistance is provided on both land via emergency response fire apparatus and water with marine units supports.

The coordination of these activities has been instrumental for the Long Neck Business Association as far as joint efforts with the United States Coast Guard – Indian River; the Delaware Natural Resources (DNR) Marine Police, the Delaware State Police (DSP), and many other emergency service entities.

This year, Indian River hosted it annual fire prevention booth with message displays and information distribution as well as having Tanker 80 on display.
