Nature: Vehicle Accident Serious

Location: Renaissance Nursing/ In front of 26002 John J Williams Hwy Millsboro, DE 19966

On Sunday afternoon, June 8th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident involving a motorcycle on John J. Williams Highway in the vicinity of the Renaissance Nursing Home. It was reported to be a single motorcycle mishap.

Emergency response units included the local emergency medical services provider and Indian River’s Assistant Chief who cancelled all responding fire apparatus.

It appears that the blue Honda motorcycle was traveling within the parking lot of the Renaissance Nursing Home when an apparent throttle issue caused acceleration jumping curbing, sidewalk, and shrubbery while striking the side the structure. The rider was ejected with injuries.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control measures for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.

Indian River EMS and Fire personnel are on the scene of a crash on Route 24 in the area of the Renaissance Nursing Home and the Plaza.

If you’re traveling in that area – expect traffic to slow – or be detoured around the scene.

The crash occurred just after 12pm .
