Nature: Structure Fire

Location: 19730 Bernard Dr., the Retreat, Lewes, DE 19958

Early Monday morning, June 2, the Indian River (80) and Rehoboth Beach (86) fire companies were alerted to assist the Lewes (82) Fire Department with a structure fire on Bernard Drive in the Retreat development off of Cedar Grove Road.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Engine #80-5 from the Long Neck facility and Engine #80-1 from the Oak Orchard facility.

Emergency crew assignments included to assist with fire suppression, salvage operations, and overhaul where needed. The Delaware State Fire Police were assigned to assist with crowd control.

It was reported by the first arriving officer, that a working garage fire with vehicles being fully involved.

The Dagsboro (73) Fire Company provided a stand-by crew for Indian River for the duration of the alarm.
