Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: 28260 John J Williams Hwy Millsboro, DE 19966

On Thursday afternoon, May 29th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway in the vicinity of Rust Store.

Emergency response units included Engine #80-1 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-5 from the Long Neck facility, as well as the Delaware State Fire Police and the Delaware State Police.

Emergency crew assignments included vehicle stabilization; assist with patient stabilization, if needed; traffic control and scene mitigation.

It appears that blue Jeep Rubicon and a green Ford Explorer were traveling on John J. Williams Highway and collided for an unknown reason. The Rubicon traveled off the roadway into a wooded area.

The traffic patterns were limited on John J. Williams Highway for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
