Nature: Structure Fire – Assist Rehoboth Beach (86)

Location: 34976 Dogwood Dr., West Bay Park, Lewes, DE 19958

Early Wednesday morning, December 8^th, the Indian River (80) and Lewes (82) fire companies were alerted to assist Rehoboth Beach (86) with a structure fire on Dogwood Drive in West Bay Park off Camp Arrowhead Road. 

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included resources to the manpower pool, assist with water supply at the hydrant, assist with interior activities, as well as restock the large diameter hose back on apparatus.

Firefighters found smoke coming from the eaves of the structure upon arrival and fire in the wall with extension to the roof area. A quick knockdown of the fire limited damage. Firefighters cleared the scene in about 1-1/2 hours.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic and scene access for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Fire Marshall is investigating.
