Story

Trunk or Treat Event – Long Neck Elementary School

On Saturday, October 23rd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company attended the Trunk or Treat Event at the Long Neck Elementary School off School Lane from 3 p. to 6 p.

Trunk-or-treating events offer a safer, less-spooky alternative to traditional trick-or-treating and are hosted throughout communities by many community service entities. During these events, adult members of the organization or attendees decorate the trunks of their vehicles in Halloween-themed decor and pass out candy or other goodies to the children in their respective community.  These events are done to create an environment that limits hazards and provides adequate supervision for youth.

The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company attends these events to promote and distribute free fire prevention and fire safety information, provides fire truck or apparatus displays and offers lighting should the event extend into the evening hours.
