Nature: IR Recognizes Sussex County Fire Chiefs Association's President

Place:  Rehoboth Beach, DE 

On Thursday, October 21st, many chiefs, past chiefs, and volunteers of the Delaware Fire Service attended the Sussex County Fire Chief's Monthly Meeting in order to conduct its regular order of business. 

This was a bittersweet event for Indian River’s Past Fire Line Officer Joseph H. Thompson, III who has served at the helm of the Sussex County Fire Chief’s Association's Presidency for the past year – 2020-2021.  This opportunity was afforded President Thompson based upon his previous tenure and experience with the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company, and the Sussex County Firefighter’s Association.

This event a unique occurrence for Joseph because his tenure at the of helm of this organization was during the COVID-19 Pandemic.  At the close of the meeting, President Thompson was presented with departing momentos, plaques and tokens from the organizational entities which included the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company.

Indian River acknowledges and congratulates President Thompson for his successful terms leading the Sussex County Fire Chief’s Association and extends its best wishes for his pursuit of the Sussex County Firefighters Association 2^nd Vice Presidency for the 2021-2022 term.
