Early Sunday morning, January 26th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company, Sussex County Paramedics, and the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit (Trooper #2) were alerted for a personal injury vehicle accident on Long Neck Road in the vicinity of the sharp s-curves near the entrance to Pot Nets Bayside. It was reported to be single vehicle, off the roadway, into trees with unknown information as to the vehicle occupants and injuries, etc.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, assist with patient stabilization, traffic control with the closure of Long Neck Road for the duration of the incident, and scene preservation.

80 Command arrived on-scene and provided an incident synopsis which included that a white Ford pick-up overturned, on its roof in the trees with two occupants both out of the vehicle. The aviation unit was cancelled via the request of the Sussex County Paramedics.

It appears that a white Ford pick-up, extended cab was traveling north on Long Neck Road and failed to successfully navigate the sharp curve striking trees and fencing before overturning and coming to rest on its roof up against an adjacent pine tree. The pick-up truck did suffer significant damage.

Both of the vehicle occupants were transported to the nearby medical facilities by the local emergency medical services provider with the assistance of the Sussex County Paramedics.

The Delaware State Fire Police provided traffic control assistance for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
