Nature: Vehicle Accident BLS

Address: Hollymount Rd., & John J Williams Hwy., Lewes, DE 19958

On Friday afternoon, November 8th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a personal injury vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway in the vicinity of Hollymount Road. It was reported to be a two vehicle collision with minor injuries and the vehicles would be located in or near the intersection.

Emergency response apparatus included: Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-5 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response assignments included scene mitigation measures which included traffic control procedures, patient stabilization, vehicle stabilization, debris and fluid recovery.

It appears that silver Volvo station wagon was traveling from southbound Hollymount Road attempting to access John J. Williams Highway and was struck by a westbound Ford Fusion sedan. Both vehicles sustained front end damaged and all parties refused additional medical observations.

The Delaware State Fire Police closed John J. Williams Highway briefly during the initial incident mitigation phase and then limited traffic patterns to only one lane.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
