Nature: Vehicle Accident BLS

On Thursday afternoon, September 26th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident in the parking lot at the Uncle Willies on Long Neck Road. It was reported to be multiple vehicles with minor injuries.

Emergency response crews included: Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-5 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Police, the Delaware State Fire Police, and the local emergency service provider.

Emergency response unit assignments included scene and incident mitigation with vehicle stabilization, traffic control and fluid recovery where necessary.

It appears that the silver mini-van was traveling through the parking lot and collided with a parked black Honda Civic dislodging the rear bumper and then striking a silver Buick Century causing it to be pushed onto the pedestrian sidewalks. The mini-van continued traveling through the parking lot.

All of the vehicles’ occupants refused additional observations at nearby medical facilities.

The Delaware State Police are investigating and all emergency response units were permitted to return to quarters.
