Nature: Vehicle Accident BLS

On Monday, September 16th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident at the Baywood Green Golf Course Hole #8. It was reported via the Sussex County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) that two golf carts collided resulting in passenger injuries.

Emergency response units included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-5 from the Long Neck facility.

Emergency response crew assignments included to assist and/or provide patient assessment and stabilization; evaluate the damage, if any to the golf carts; and provide overall scene assistance.

It appears that the golf carts may have been rounding the curve resulting in one of the cart’s occupants being ejected onto the pavement surface.

The Sussex County Paramedics and the local emergency medical services provider tendered medical assistance to the occupants of the golf cart and transported to nearby medical facilities.
