Nature: Field Fire

Location: Pot Nets Bayside

On Friday afternoon, June 28th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a field fire in the vicinity of Pot Nets Bayside just off of Long Neck Road.

Emergency response apparatus included Brush #80-0 from the Long Neck facility and Brush #80-00 from the Oak Orchard facility. Upon arrival of emergency response apparatus, it was identified that a recently cultivated farmers field was involved with small fire approximately 50’ x 100’.

Emergency response crews were assigned to box off of the fire and saturate with water to fully suppression the fire spread. The response was limited to the brush trucks.

The Delaware State Fire Police provided traffic control assistance for the duration of the incident.
