On Saturday evening, June 1st, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for electrical wires down and actively arcing causing a fire hazard. It was reported to be primary electrical wirings to a manufactured home style residential structure.

Emergency response units included: Engine #80-1 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facility as well as Chief #80-15.

Emergency response crew assignments for Engine #80-1 were to identify and investigate the situation as well as locating the main disconnects for secure the electrical distribution until the power company officials could repair the situation.

The Delaware State Fire Police were assigned to provide scene preservation to minimize the potential for an electrical hazard associated with the quantity of pedestrians and golf carts.

Once the power was successfully shut-off at the disconnection panel all emergency response apparatus was permitted to return to their respective fire stations.

The local utility provide was notified of the situation.
