Thursday April, 11 2013 @ 15:01:59 Nature: Field Fire (Assist Millsboro (83)) Address: 27196 Avalon Rd Georgetown, DE 19947 On Thursday afternoon, April 11th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted to assist the Millsboro (83) Fire Company with a field fire on Avalon Road near Georgetown. Emergency response units from Indian River included: Engine #80-2, Tanker 80, Utility 80 with Polaris 80, Brush #80-00 from the Oak Orchard facility as well as Engine #80-3 and Brush #80-0 from the Long Neck facility. Emergency crew assignments included fire suppression activities and to assist the Millsboro Fire Company as needed with water resources, water shuttle, and manpower resources. Additional assistance was requested from the following entities: Lewes (82) Fire Department; Rehoboth Beach (86) Fire Company; Dagsboro (73) Fire Company; Georgetown (77) Fire Company; the Delaware State Forestry Service; and other personnel as needed. Illustrated herewith are various photographs of the field fire incident. |
