Nature: Truck Committee Travels to South Dakota

On Tuesday, April 9th, the Truck Committee for the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company that is authorized to finalize the replacement of Tanker 80 traveled to Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Lyons, South Dakota to tour the apparatus manufacturing plant and attend a trade show of Rosenbauer Firefighting Apparatus.

Rosenbauer was selected via a competitive bidding process to build the new custom apparatus chosen to replace Tanker 80. The local distributor of the Rosenbauer line is DPC Emergency Equipment also known as DPC of Marydel in Kent County, Delaware. The Truck Committee has chosen Rosenbauer as the builder for the new Tanker 80. The chassis will be a Rosenbauer Commander and this unit will be the department’s first piece of Rosenbauser apparatus. You may view additional information via the following website: http://www.rosenbauer.com.  

Illustrated herewith are some photographs of the day’s events as well as the weather conditions with temperatures between 17 °  and 31 ° with extensive ice and sleet conditions impacting Sioux Falls, South Dakota while the residents of the Indian River fire district enjoys temperatures in the low 80s.
