Nature: House Fire – Assist Rehoboth Beach (86)

Address: 29 Thompson Ct. Canal Corkrin, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971

On Sunday evening, March 24th, the Rehoboth Beach (86), Lewes (82) and Indian River (80) volunteer fire companies were alerted for a residential structure fire at 29 Thompson Court in the Canal Corkrin development off of Church Street in Rehoboth Beach.

The initial dispatch for the Rehoboth Center was a smoke investigation which was upgraded to a structure fire with mutual aid companies being alerted.

Emergency response crews from Indian River included: Engine #80-1 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facility.

Incoming apparatus were assigned to initiate fire suppression activities for a fire in the crawl space under the fire place as well as locating the nearby hydrants, setting up the ladder truck and ground ladders where necessary and to establish a manpower pool.

Additional emergency response units included the Delaware State Fire Police, the Sussex County Paramedics, and the Delaware State Fire Marshall.

The Delaware State Fire Marshall is investigating to determine the origin of the fire.

There were no reported civilian or firefighter injuries.
