Nature: Structure Fire (Tanker Assist 83)

Address: 24183 Peterkins Rd., Georgetown, DE 19947

Early Saturday morning, March 23rd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted to assist the Millsboro and Georgetown fire companies with a working structure fire on Peterkins Road outside of Georgetown.

Emergency response units from Indian River included: Tanker 80 and the Delaware State Fire Police.

Saturday, March 23, 2013 - Garage Fire

24183 Peterkins Rd.

At 0128 hrs., the Sussex Emergency Operations Center (EOC) dispatched the Millsboro (83) and Georgetown (77) fire companies to a reported  working garage fire at the above location.

Upon arrival, it was identified to be several attached garages well involved with fire.  83 Command then requested tankers from Indian River (80) and Dagsboro (73) volunteer fire companies and a water shuttle was established to supply the operation.   Engine 83-4 and 77-4 were utilized for fire attack operations while engines from 83, 77, and 73 shuttled water to supply the tankers. Crews worked on scene for approximately three hours to extinguish the fire.   An estimated 26,000 gallons of water were used during the operation. The Frankford VFC (76) covered Millsboro's district during the incident

BREAKING: Structure Fire - Peterkins Rd South of Georgetown

Fire crews are on the scene of a structure fire on Peterkins Road between Haven and Evergreen Drives south of Georgetown. The fire was reported just before 1:30am. Crews from Millsboro, Georgetown, Indian River and several other companies are on the scene.
