Monday December, 3 2012 @ 11:04:32 Nature: Vehicle Accident BLS Address: John J Williams Hwy & Mount Joy Road, Millsboro, DE 19966 On Monday morning, December 3rd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a personal injury vehicle collision at the intersection of John J. Williams Highway and Mount Joy Road. It was reported to be a two vehicle collision. Emergency response apparatus included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-5 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police and the Delaware Department of Transportation (DELDOT). DELDOT and the Delaware State Fire Police assisted with traffic control for the duration of the incident. DELDOT was on location prior to some of the other emergency response apparatus. Emergency response crew assignments included to assist with patient stabilization, if needed, initiate vehicle stabilization efforts and continue to provide traffic control assistance for the duration of the incident. Additional crews were assigned to mitigate the fluid and debris recovery tasks in order to assist with incident clean-up. It appears that one vehicle traveling west on John J. Williams Highway collided with the vehicle attempting to crossover John J. Williams Highway onto Oak Orchard Road. The incident resulted in person being transported to nearby medical facilities via the local emergency medical services provider. The Delaware State Police are investigating.
