Nature: Wires Down/arching

Location: Pole Into A Structure Address: 28462 Layton Davis Rd., Millsboro, DE 19966

On Thursday afternoon, November 8th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an electrical hazard where a utility fell into a recreational structure. It was reported to have a fallen utility pole with electrical and television wiring hazard into a recreational pavilion.

Emergency response apparatus included Chief 80-15, Engine #80-1 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facility.

Emergency response assignments were to minimize the electrical hazard, evaluate the structural for additional damage, and assist the property owner where needed while awaiting arrival of the utility service providers.

The incident was placed under control and Chief Deery coordinated the overall incident response.

The Delaware State Fire Police provided traffic control assistance for the duration of the incident.
