Wednesday October, 31 2012 @ 18:39:24 Nature: Vehicle Accident ALS Address: Hollymount Rd & Beaver Da Harbeson, DE 19951 On Wednesday evening, October 31st, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Hollymount Road and Beaver Dam outside of Harbeson. It was reported to have a two vehicle collision with one vehicle overturned and subject reported trapped. Emergency response alerts included the local emergency services provider, the Delaware State Police Aviation, and the Sussex County Paramedics as well as the Dagsboro ambulance that was returned from a previous trip to the local hospital. Emergency response units from Indian River were Rescue 80 and Engine 80-1 from Oak Orchard and Engine #80-5 from the Long Neck facility. While traveling to the incident location, Rescue 80 was advised that the occupant self-extricated from the overturned vehicle. It appears that a Ford van was unable to stop at the four way stop and struck a 4-door sport utility vehicle causing it our spin and overturn. The Delaware State Police Aviation unit was cancelled. The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident. The Delaware State Police are investigating.
