Nature: Paving Project – Station #1 – Oak Orchard

Paving Updates – Station 1

The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company’s Oak Orchard facility receives the final efforts of a parking lot and driveway enhancement effort.

Today, the paving contractors (Jerry’s Paving, Inc.) completed the parking lot and driveway pavement initiative. This initiative was courtesy of our elected official delegation that funded these community enhancements via their Delaware General Assembly Community Transportation funding. The elected officials that shared with this funding included:

The Honorable State Senator Joseph W. Booth, 19th District;

The Honorable State Senator George H. Bunting, Jr., 20th District;

The Honorable State Representative John C. Atkins, 41st District;

The Honorable State Representative Ruth Briggs-King, 37th District; and

The Honorable State Representative Peter C. Schwarzkopf, 14th District.

The site work preparation and grading was performed by Brian Anderson of Anderson Management Site work and Excavation.

Additional site work requirements were required by the Sussex Conservationist District for swale adjustments to enhance water run-off and drainage items.

The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company wishes to acknowledge these funding grants via our existing elected officials.
