Nature: Vehicle Fire

 On Tuesday morning, September 11^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle fire on Banks Road in the vicinity of Dogwood Lane near the old Friendship School. 

This incident was reported by a motorists stopping by Indian River Station #2 in Long Neck. 

Emergency response units included:  Engine #80-1 from the Oak Orchard facility.

Indian River’s Incident Command tasks were coordinated by Jason M. Faulkner, Sr. who responded to the station and came upon the incident.  However, it was identified that this was not a vehicle fire but rather a property damage vehicle accident on Banks Road near the sharp curves.

After a preliminary evaluation, it was determined that no fire or emergency response apparatus was needed at the scene of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.

Traffic patterns along this section of Banks Road were restricted for the duration of the incident.
