On Sunday afternoon, September 2nd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a personal injury accident on Indian Mission Road near the entrance to Stonewater Creek. It was reported to be two vehicle collision possibly head-on with unknown patient information.

Emergency response apparatus included Engines #80-5 from the Long Neck facility as well as Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility.

All emergency response were assigned to assist with scene preservation, vehicle stabilization, patient stabilization, if needed, as well as debris field clean up and well as traffic control.

It appears that a northbound greenish colored Hyundai and southbound lime green van collided on Indian Mission Road for an unknown reason. Both vehicles suffered extensive front end damage and the roadway was closed for a short period of time with intermittent lane closures for the duration of the incident.

The local emergency medical services provider transported the vehicle occupant's to nearby medical facilities for additional observations.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.

Georgetown Man Charged with DUI of Drugs Following Head-On Collision in Millsboro

Delaware State Police say two people sustained only minor injuries in a head-on collision near Millsboro Sunday afternoon.

Police say the crash occurred just after 3 p.m. as 42-year-old Robert Storms of Georgetown was southbound on Indian Mission Road; police say he crossed the center line and struck a Hyundai Tucson, driven by 60-year-old Joseph Panghello of Springfield, Pennsylvania.

Police say both drivers were wearing their seat belts.

Storms was charged with DUI of drugs, driving with a suspended license, failure to remain in single lane, not having proof of insurance and not having proof of registration.
