Nature: Vehicle Accident BLS

On Friday, June 29th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident in the vicinity of Kickin’Chicken on John J. Williams Highway just east of Bay Farm Road. It was reported to be a multiple vehicle rear-ends type collision with chain reaction and possible minor injuries.

Emergency incident response included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-5 from the Long Neck facility with all units under the direction of Chief Steven C. Deery, Jr.

Emergency response crew assignments were to assist with patient stabilization, if needed, provide vehicle stabilization where necessary, and provide traffic control pending arrival of the Delaware State Police and towing authority.

It appears that a Buick Rendezvous was traveling west on John J. Williams Highway and collided with a Dodge Caravan type vehicle which struck a 4 door Hyundai Elantra passenger sedan.

The Delaware State Fire Police provided traffic control assistance for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
