Nature: Vehicle Accident ALS

On Friday, June 15th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a personal injury accident on Canvasback Road at Oyster Cracker Road in the Pot Nets Seaside development off of Long Neck Road. It was reported to involve a golf cart and the Sussex County Paramedics as well as the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit were alerted.

Emergency incident response included: Rescue 80 and Engine #80-1 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-5 from the Long Neck facility.

Indian River’s Incident Command was assumed by Ryan Mock who responded directly to the incident and was able to ascertain that most emergency response units were not needed and downgraded the emergency response to units already on-scene.

The local emergency medical service provider did transportation one person to the nearby medical facilities.

It appears that a golf cart was traveling down Canvasback Road allowing the occupant to fall off of the cart while in motion.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
