This initial dispatch was an incident alert for an unconscious/fainting person for the local emergency medical service provider as well as the Sussex County Paramedics. As a result of injuries, the injured person was flown to Christiana Hospital as a trauma alert situation. Emergency incident response included Engines #80-3 from the Long Neck facility and Engine #80-1 from the Oak Orchard facility. However, while traveling to the initial dispatch, the Sussex County Emergency Operations Center alerted Indian River units to a second emergency in the fire district and re-directed Engine #80-1 to a carbon monoxide detector activation at Ambling Way in the Peninsula off of Bay Farm Road. Emergency incident response amendments included Engine #80-1 and Rescue 80 to the CO detector activation while Engine #80-3 coordinated the landing zoning and patient transfer assignment. The CO detector activation appears to be a malfunction with the equipment. |
