Tuesday May, 8 2012 @ 09:03:03 Nature: Vehicle Accident ALS Location: Near Pinewater Farms Address: 106 Pinewater Dr., Harbeson, DE 19951 On Tuesday morning, May 8th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company, the Sussex County Paramedics and the Delaware State Police were alerted for a motorcycle accident on John J. Williams Highway east of Sloan Road. It was reported to be one motorcycle with ejection. It appears that a yellow Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling east on John J. Williams, ran off the shoulder of the roadway, lost control, and ejected the rider. Chief Steven C. Deery, Jr. responded directly to the incident location and coordinated emergency response apparatus. Emergency response units included Engine #80-5 from the Long Neck facility, Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility, the Sussex County Paramedics, the Delaware State Aviation Unit, as well as the Delaware State Fire Police. Emergency response crews were assigned to assist with patient stabilization and packaging, to stabilize and secure the vehicle, if needed, and to assist with scene preservation. The Delaware State Police Aviation unit was cancelled and the motorcyclist was transported to nearby medical facilities via the local emergency medical service provider. The Delaware State Fire Police were assigned to coordinate traffic control measures for the duration of the incident. The Delaware State Police are investigating. No word yet from police on the number of vehicles involved. The crash was reported just after 9 o’clock.
