Monday May, 7 2012 Facility Upgrades Address: Station #1 – Oak Orchard Facility On Monday morning, May 7th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company implemented an enhancement effort to amerliorate its operational efficiency by installing a new well and pump system in order to fill firefighting apparatus at our Main Station. It is envisioned that this will provide for interior apparatus filling capabilities. The well drilling firm of A. C. Schultes, Inc. of Bridgeville was retained to perform the installation task. This initiative will be one of many ancillary enhancements that will be coordinated at the Oak Orchard facility within the immediate foreseeable future. These aforementioned enhancements include: • New Well and Pump System – Enhanced Fire Truck Filling Capabilities; • Relocation of Utility Poles and Fire Siren; • Relocation of Utility LP tanks • Construction and Installation of Walk In Refrigerator and Freezers; and • Construction and Enlargement of Kitchen Pantry Operations for Catering and Fundraising Functions. The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company believes that this will ameliorate our apparatus filling issues at Station #1 and allow us to better serve our community. |
