Friday March, 23 2012 @ 10:15:32 Nature: Automatic Fire Alarm Address: 15 Falcon Crest Dr Harbeson, DE 19951 On Friday morning, March 23rd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an automatic fire alarm incident in the development of Falcon Crest. The residential structure was evaluated for apparent issues and determined to be unfounded at this location. Upon additional evaluation, the location was initially inaccurate and identified to be a residential placement residence in the same development that had a water flow alarm. This incident was evaluated and determined that the fire company was not needed. Why preparing to depart this location, a Sussex County employee arrived and identified an inappropriate burn immediately down from this incident location; however, in another fire district. Upon clarification and authorization to investigate, Indian River did identify an inappropriate burn practice and notify the persons of their legal requirements and requested the immediate extinguishment of the fire, cessation of the incident and future incidents at this location, and notification of the Delaware Department of Natural Resources & Environmental Control (DNREC) Enforcement Section for additional follow up. All Indian River apparatus was permitted to return to their respective stations. |
