Nature: Appliance Fire

Address: 26093 Sherifs Trap Court, Sherwood Forest, Millsboro, DE 19966

On Saturday afternoon, March 3rd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an appliance fire located at 26093 Sherifs Trap Court in the Sherwood Forest development off of John J. Williams Highway.

Emergency response included Engine #80-1 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facility.

Incident Command was coordinated by Ryan Mock who requested an interior evaluation of the structure to search for any extensions or issues associated with the appliance concern. It appears that a wash machine motor caught fire and burnt up.

Firefighters assisted the homeowner with removal of the wash machine and performed quick residential assessment and size up.

All response crews were returned to their respective stations.
