On Monday, February 27th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted to provide emergency medical service (EMS) assistance with a cardiac arrest incident directly attributed to a tree cutting/trimming incident on Tecumseh Avenue in Riverdale Park.

Emergency medical response crews were assigned to provide assistance at the incident location as well as establishing an area for a helicopter landing zone.

The landing zone area was designated as the parking lot at the Community Church of Oak Orchard.

The Delaware State Police Trooper Medic and aviation unit were utilized to transport the patient to nearby medical facilities.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
