Nature: Utility Truck – Marine Unit Response Vehicle Progress Update

On Wednesday, December 28th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company received a status update regarding the progress on the utility truck conversion for Utility #80-8. This effort was to evaluate and inspect the new utility conversion body for the 2011 Ford F-350 Utility Truck that will function as a Marine Response Unit and a Wildland Fire Response Unit for our Polaris All-Terrain Vehicle.

The Utility Apparatus Committee reviewed the utility body design specifications and installation; emergency lighting specification and installation; as well as, radio antenna installation, etc. The utility body includes multiple closets and storage compartments as well as a transverse compartment accessible from both sides of the utility body, remote control and manual locking devices, interior compartment lighting, exterior vehicle ground lighting, Whelen emergency lighting packages, and Motorola radio communication devices.

Illustrated herewith are various photographs of the utility body as a result of the current status.
