Nature: Structure Fire

Location: Holly Lake Campground/Bathhouse
Address:  32087 Holly Lake Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

On Sunday morning, September 8th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was initially alerted for an outside fire in the area of the bathhouse at Holly Lake Campground.  Upon dispatch, it was upgraded to a structure fire at the same location and alerted the Lewes (82) and Rehoboth Beach (86) volunteer fire companies for assistance.

Emergency response from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard location and Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck location as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency crew assignments included incident mitigation, identification and evaluation of incident issues, hand tool and thermal imaging camera deployment.  The crews evaluated and determined the source of the issue.  All other responding units were cancelled.

It appears that the facility hot water heater exhaust vent become dislodged and ignited the roofing materials.
