Nature: Structure Fire

Location: ITAO Heavy Fire Showing – Coastal Club

On Monday evening, September 2nd, the Indian River (80), Rehoboth Beach (86), and Milton (85) volunteer fire companies were alerted to assist Lewes (82) Fire Department with a working structure fire in the vicinity of Acadia Lane in the Coastal Club development off of Beaver Dam Road.  It was reported to have heavy fire showing at the residential structure at time of dispatch.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80, Chief 80-15, and Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-3 and #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency responses crew assignments included assistance with fire suppression, assistance with exposure concerns, water supply from hydrant near assigned structural locations, manpower pool assistance, and incident mitigation activities where needed.

It was reported and obvious for heavy fire showing upon accessing the development.  Additional alerts for standby coverage assignments included Georgetown (77), Memorial (89), and Bethany Beach (70).

There were no reported injuries associated with the incident.

The Delaware State Fire Police were required to eliminate access and secure perimeter to provide adequate access for emergency apparatus, water supply lines, and other activities.

The Delaware State Fire Marshall is investigating.

Firefighters battling blaze at Coastal Club

Story Location: 35229 Acadia Lane, Lewes, Delaware  19958

 Firefighters from Lewes, Rehoboth Beach, Milton, and Indian River are on the scene of a fire at a home in the Coastal Club community outside Lewes.

The fire was reported about 8:38 p.m. on Acadia Lane in the back section of Coastal Club.

Firefighters reported the home being heavily involved upon arrival. The fire reportedly started on the front porch and worked up to the second floor.

Coastal Club is located off Beaver Dam Road, west of Lewes.
