Nature: Fire Prevention Community Outreach Effort

Location: Pot Nets Bayside

On Monday, August 19th, Indian River’s Fire Prevention Community Outreach Initiative and Community Outreach Coordinators (Robert Marmor and Roxanne Bammer) as well as their respective committee participants have honed their public relation skills to promote awareness, attend, instruct, distribute, and provide educational material on various fire prevention and safety initiatives as well as distribute smoke detectors.

Over the past months, these Community Outreach Efforts have focused on the Pot Nets Bayside Community, well before the tragic event of Wednesday, August 7, 2019 to distribute fire prevention and safety information, and schedule opportunities to perform home inspections with smoke detector installations.

During the third canvassing event in Pot Nets Bayside, the outreach initiative finished canvassing efforts in the old Pot Nets East region and made contact with 81 people (26 children and 55 adults) visiting 48 households to promote their fire prevention and fire safety agenda.

These coordinators are outgoing, friendly, and comfortable speaking in settings to relay the necessary topics to inform and educate our community residents.

Please contact us at http://www.irvfc.com/page/contact-us  for fire prevention presentations, information, public awareness efforts or free smoke alarms.

The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company acknowledges the efforts this committee.
