Nature: Wires Down/Arching

Location: 28471 Nanticoke Av Millsboro, DE 19966

On Sunday afternoon, July 14^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a wires down incident on Nanticoke Avenue.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Utility 80-11 from the Oak Orchard area and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck area as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crews were assigned to evaluate and mitigate the incident concerns as well as traffic control.

It appears that an overhead primary residential electric service was ripped down by a passing motorist pulling a boat.  The boat caught the overhead wire causing the utility pole providing electrical service to the residential structure to break.

The Delaware Power & Light Company were notified of the residential electrical service and provided a responder. 

The Delaware State Police were investigating.
