Wednesday September, 7 2011 Nature: Electric Vehicle Demonstration Location: Oak Orchard Road – Station #1 On Wednesday evening, September 7th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was afforded an opportunity to evaluate a 2011 Chevrolet Volt sedan in order to become acquainted with various electric vehicle features. The demonstrator vehicle was provided by 1st State Chevrolet in Georgetown, Delaware. Many members were afforded the opportunity inquire with their Service Manager (Jim Gallagher) and review the vehicle. Emphasis was placed upon firefighter safety, vehicle disconnects, and pinpointing areas of concern with the electric vehicle.
