Monday September, 5 2011 @ 18:53:14 Nature: Automatic Fire Alarm Address: 35415 Sussex Lane, Mariner’s Cove, Millsboro, DE 19966 On Monday afternoon, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an automatic fire alarm on Sussex Lane in the Mariner’s Cove development off of Long Neck Road. It was reported that the neighbors continued to hear the audible alarms at the residential structure. Engine #80-1 and Rescue 80 responded from the Oak Orchard facility. Engine #80-3 responded from the Long Neck facility. Apparatus Officer Ryan Mock coordinated the activities for the event and requested the crew from Engine #80-3 to evaluate the interior and exterior of the structure. The crew from Engine#80-1 was assigned to assist with the initial assignment. Rescue 80 was cancelled prior to arrival at the incident. After evaluation, it was determined to be a faulty CO detector. All units were able to return to the respective stations.
