Nature: Indian River Offers Defensive Driving Course
City: Oak Orchard, DE
On Wednesday evening, April 16th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company contracted with the Delaware Safety Council to conduct an Advanced Defensive Course for the volunteer fire company, ladies’ auxiliary, and general community to participate within.
The Delaware Safety Council has proudly served the safety needs of the Mid-Atlantic region and remains strongly focused on its original mission of protecting the life and health of citizens on the road, in the workplace, and at home by actively providing education and training resources.
This evening course was pursued by approximately 41 participants which included topics in the following areas:
(1) Your Risk as a Driver;
(2) Vehicle Inspection and Maintenance;
(3) Vehicle Speed and Distance;
(4) Driving Emergencies;
(5) Situations and Surroundings; and
(6) Hazardous Driving Conditions.
