Nature: Vehicle Accident w/Medics

Location: John J Williams Hwy and Long Neck Road, Millsboro, DE 19966

Late Wednesday evening, April 10^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident at the intersection of John J. Williams Highway and Long Neck Road.  It was reported to be a two vehicle collision possibly head-on.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility, Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as 80 Command and the Delaware State Fire Police.  The Sussex County Paramedics and the local emergency medical service (EMS) units were alerted for the incident as well.  Additional resources from the Millsboro (83) EMS were requested.

Emergency response crew assignments included traffic control, vehicle stabilization, fluid and debris clean up and assistance with patient care if needed.

It appears that a blue Jeep and a silver Toyota mini-van collided at the intersection for an unknown reason causing extensive front end damage to both vehicles.  At least three people were transported to nearby medical facilities.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware Sate Police are investigating the incident.
